Kristie Lavelle joined the Samuel Merritt University Occupational Therapy Department in January 2004 as an adjunct assistant professor. She graduated with an MOT degree from the University of Puget Sound in 1994. Her background is primarily with adults with physical disabilities in the acute rehabilitation, acute care, and outpatient settings. She earned her Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) credential in 2001 and has recently started working with the pediatric hand therapy population at Children's Hospital in Oakland. She continues to practice in hand therapy at both Children's Hospital as well as Alta Bates Outpatient Hand Therapy clinics.


Kristie's personal interests include spending time with her husband and three year old son, camping and the outdoors, music, cooking (especially Thai cooking), and supporting local farmer's markets and farmers.
