Faculty Bio
Born and raised in southern California, Dr. De Rosa attended Occidental College and UCLA, earning an undergraduate degree in Psychobiology and his doctorate in Neuroscience studying specimens from the Pediatric Epilepsy Surgery Program. He completed two postdoctoral fellowships in neuroimmunology working at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey and Berlex Biosciences.
Dr. De Rosa joined the SMU community in 1999 when he was hired to teach Human Gross Anatomy in the new Master Physician Assistant program. The following year Dr. De Rosa became an Academic Coordinator. In 2004, Dr. De Rosa returned to school earning degrees in Public Health and Physician Assistant Studies at Touro University, California.
In addition to chairing the Physician Assistant Department, Dr. De Rosa works in a busy family practice clinic in Berkeley, California.
