Tech Grants to Improve Educational Effectiveness
Mini-grants of $500 are now available to faculty members to improve teaching through more effective use of technology.
The goal of the project is to encourage faculty members to experiment with using various forms of technology in the classroom to improve student learning. Examples include incorporating videos, simulations, and animations, or using a wiki for a group project.
Valerie Landau, Director of Assessment, and Marcus Banks, Director of Library/Academic & Instructional Innovation, spearheaded the project.
The grants will be given following completion of certain requirements. For further information, contact Marcus Banks at ext. 5732 or Valerie Landau at ext. 5358.
Upcoming workshops — the next is on February 20 in the Health Education Center conference room 220 from 12 to 1 p.m. — will provide an overview of the project, and help applicants formulate their question, and review and revise findings. Open labs / appointments are available to help with technology support.
