| Save the Dates for the Centennial Celebrations
As we all know, Samuel Merritt College (SMC) is preparing to celebrate its 100th birthday.
With more than a dozen Centennial Committee members volunteering to research historical artifacts and photos, line up alums and guest speakers, order balloons, banners and cakes, everyone is set to get this party started!
The SMC centennial celebration will last throughout the 2009 academic year, and include special observations on different aspects of the College's rich history.
But you don't have to wait six months to start catching up on your history. The Centennial Historical Display Committee has put together a 'Test Your Knowledge?' board at the Peralta Pavillion student living room, located across from the West Pavillion Conference Room and another one located at the Lower Peralta (LP2) floor, as you enter from the LP2 parking structure.

"There are no prizes," said Carla Ross, Director of Development Alumni Affairs and Centennial Historical Committee Chair, "but it's a great opportunity for you to learn a little more about the rich history here on the Hill and to find out how much your coworkers or fellow students know about the College's history."
So stop on by and test your knowledge, everyone! Don't forget to mark your calendars for these important Centennial dates.
