Peralta Pavilion (450 30th Street) "Green Space" Parking Lot Modifications Construction is due to begin Monday, January 10, 20
Construction for modifying the existing parking lot into "SMU Green Space" will begin on Monday, January 10, 2011. During this construction period, Valet Parking Service will be available for patient/visitors.
Please see attached site plan and preliminary construction schedule for impacts to the existing lot.
- Red area - on 1/10/11, this area will be fenced off for construction.
- Yellow area - this area is currently fenced off as part of the Parking Garage project. We are trying to get this area for contractor staging area and parking. The contractors for the Peralta Pavilion Elev/Infrastructure project will also be parking in this area or offsite in order to ensure that parking is available for patient/visitor parking.
- Purple area - this area will be impacted at some point during the construction. Because these areas significantly impact access, we will communicate at a later date with more details. However, we are planning on doing this scope of work on a Saturday and holidays (like MLK or President's Day) but it may also need to be done on a weekday.
Regarding noise and dust concerns, Suma Landscaping will inform us prior to the work occurring if it will generate significant noise. They will install a filter cloth if needed over the windows to offices that faces the parking lot to help control dust.
Once construction has been completed, there will be 40 stalls - of which 4 will be handicap accessible. During construction, our goal is to keep much of the remaining parking area as open as possible. However, parking availability will vary and may at times be completely unavailable.
