I graduated from nursing school in 1981 with a BSN from San Francisco State University. I haved worked as a staff RN in the Emergency Department, Labor and Delivery, Intensive Care Nursery, and OB/GYN Surgery over the past twenty years. I graduated from Sonoma State University is 1985 with an MSN FNP. I have worked as a Family Nurse Practitioner in Methadone Treatment, primary HIV care and Dual Diagnosis. I currently work as the Health Center Director at The Ritter Center in San Rafael, providing primary care for low income and homeless individuals. I completed my EdD in 2006 at the University of San Francisco. My dissertation was an interpretive field study exploring the puzzle of progress through international development in Southeast Asia. I am president of the WindHorse Development Foundation. The Windhorse Foundation, in partnership with hilltribe communities, works in community based development projects. I am also committed to providing service and learning opportuites for students at Samuel Merritt University in Southeast Asia. I was awarded the Sigma Theta Tau Chapter Nu X Humanitarian award in January of 2007 for work in the Burma Project.
