Teaching nursing gives me a strong sense of purpose and satisfaction in life. At Samuel Merritt University's Health Sciences Simulation Center, I am proud to be part of a simulation team striving to help students improve their clinical performance in a simulated hospital learning environment. Also, as an Albert Schweitzer Fellow, I have a lifetime commitment to help the underserved in our Oakland community gain access to cancer prevention and screening services. I have both volunteered and worked at Markstein Cancer Education and Prevention Services of Alta Bates Summit Medical Center since 1995. I am a fourth generation Bay Area native; my husband Daniel and I enjoy nature walks and listening to all types of music together!
