Configuring Windows Mobile Outlook to sync with email

  1. From the main screen, select Messaging (open envelope icon)
  2. Hit the down arrow and select New Email Account...
  3. Enter your email address (login@samuelmerritt.edu)
  4. Uncheck 'Try to get settings automatically from the Internet'
  5. Click Next (right soft key)
  6. Select your email provider (press the center button and arrow down to Exchange Server)
  7. Click Next (right soft key)
  8. Click Next (right soft key)
  9. Enter the server address webmail.samuelmerritt.edu
  10. There should be a check in the box 'This server requires an encrypted (SSL) connection'.  If not, arrow down and press the center button to place a check in the box.
  11. Click Next (right soft key)
  12. Enter your username  (you just need to enter your login name only here)
  13. Enter your password (enter the password you use to login to webmail)
  14. Enter the domain (samuelmerritt.edu)
  15. There should be a check in the box 'Save Password'
  16. Click Next (right soft key)
  17. All of the boxes should be checked to synchronize
  18. Click Finish (left soft key)

 Your phone will now attempt to sync.  You will receive a Security Policy change notice.  You must accept the security policy in order to sync with the exchange server.  Press Accept.

The phone will take a few minutes to synchronize.

**IMPORTANT - be sure your phone is set to the correct date, time, and time zone

Click Start - Settings - Clock & Alarm to configure the clock settings
