Connecting to Samuel Merritt University's Secure VPN webclient

Ensure you can access the internet.  On SMU campus, you will need to be connected via smu_lawn (secure wireless).

Using Safari….Navigate to https://sslvpn.samuelmerritt.edu

Click 'Continue' to accept the certificate

In the first window “Anyconnect'….drop the box down and select the appropriate connection.

Enter your SMU credentials to complete the sign-in

You will now see the notification that you are connected. 

The site will now attempt to install Cisco Anyconnect Secure Mobility Client on your computer.

You will get a notification to accept a certificate.  Click 'Trust'

A window will appear installing Java client and the Cisco Anyconnect Secure client

Click 'Allow' to allow the installation

Type in your Mac login credentials to allow the installation of the VPN client

The Cisco Anyconnect application will now install

You should see the Cisco Anyconnect app appear on the dock

You can right-click on the app and choose Options – Keep in Dock

A notification window will appear with information on your VPN connection.
