The Helpdesk supports multiple ways of getting help. The first step is to try to help yourself by reviewing our FAQs or using the password reset page. The next step is to submit a helpdesk request. Our courteous staff can also be reached through telephone and email.

Submit a Helpdesk Request

The fastest way to get help is to submit an online Helpdesk request. You may need to provide your login information and password.

The Helpdesk provides support Monday through Friday, between 8 am and 5 pm. You can contact the Helpdesk directly by calling 510.869.6836 or sending email to helpdesk@samuelmerritt.edu.

Microsoft Office Support

Alta Bates Summit Medical Center offers the services of Vitalyst to assist employees with questions related to standard desktop software, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Samuel Merritt University employees are eligible to take advantage of this convenient service 24 hours a day. For more information, please visit the Vitalyst page.

After Hours Support

After hours support should be based on an urgent need that cannot wait until normal business hours. Urgent after hours support can be requested through the technical support pager at 510.801.0345. Please leave a number at which you may be contacted.
