Welcome to CSPM Immersion Week

The California School of Podiatric Medicine offers a free all inclusive week in the San Francisco Bay Area that provides you with an opportunity to explore the profession of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery. You will learn more about what a podiatrist does and see for yourself first hand the rewards of the profession.
During the CSPM Immersion Week you will:
- Have an invaluable learning experience and opportunity to explore the profession of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery
- Shadow faculty and students in a variety of clinical settings
- Participate in organized lectures covering the correlation between basic sciences and podiatric medicine
- Participate in a full day MCAT workshop
- Learn about financial aid and the admission process
- Spend day in San Francisco and tour the city!
How does one become eligible for the Immersion Week?
Applicants must have 30 or more credit hours completed by an accredited undergraduate institution and may not have been previously enrolled in a school of podiatric medicine. Your all-college GPA will be taken in consideration, since there is limited space expect acceptance to be competitive.
How many students are accepted to CSPM Immersion Week?
Participation in CSPM Immersion Week is limited to 10 to 15 participants.
Where does CSPM Immersion Week take place?
CSPM Immersion Week will be held on the main campus of Alta Bates-Summit Medical Center in Oakland, CA.
How much does the program cost?
This is an all inclusive one week program. We will cover the cost of airfare (up to $500.00) and your room/board for the week. You will need spending money for incidentals but there is no charge for the program. Upon your acceptance to the program you will be asked for a deposit of $100.00, which is refundable after completion of the program.

When is the application deadline?
Application deadline is Friday, May 1st, 2009.
When will you know if you were accepted for the program?
Successful applicants will be notified of acceptance in the program by email on or before May 15th, 2009.
