El Hogar Community Services, Inc. operates outpatient health and prevention programs utilizing the Recovery Model serving adults in the Sacramento area who are experiencing mental illness. We are currently looking for a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to work Monday – Friday at our Regional Support Team. RST Psychiatric Nurse PractitionerThe Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner is responsible for providing medication supportive services under the direction of the Medical Director to a designated population of chronically mentally ill adults. The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner will perform all duties allowed by the Nurse Practice Act for Nurse Practitioners to provide direct patient care through the use of standardized procedures and protocols as approved by the Medical Director of El Hogar, Inc.; follow departmental policies and procedures; exercise initiative, originality and judgment in applying established principles and practices to new and unusual problems; serve as a resource for staff and participate in educational sessions for staff and members. This position requires possession of a valid California Registered Nurse License AND possession of a valid California Nurse Practitioner license AND possession of a valid California Nurse Practitioner Furnisher License AND Family Medicine or Adult Medicine Nurse Practitioner Specialization. The successful candidate must also have one (1) year of experience as a Registered Nurse or Nurse Practitioner experience in a clinic or mental health center. A successful candidate must have knowledge of the Recovery Model as well as strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities. They must have excellent interpersonal communication skills and ability to work effectively with consumers, pharmaceutical companies, psychiatrists, clerical and clinical staff, strong documentation and record keeping skills, experience with Microsoft Office and other database programs. They must possess flexibility, the ability to evaluate and make recommendations for agency practices to decrease agency costs and enhance efficiency, as well as the ability to work under pressure and with diverse cultural groups.
