The Oakland library is in the Health Education Center (HEC), indicated on the Oakland campus map as building 3. The entrance to the library is the first door inside the front door of the HEC.
Access
Patrons may use the library only during the hours posted above.
A Samuel Merritt University ID badge or Summit ID badge is required for entry to the Oakland campus library Monday-Thursday after 5pm and all day Saturday and Sunday.

About the Library
The John A. Graziano Memorial Library provides access to the largest collection of nursing and podiatric journals and monographs in the East Bay and is one of the best collections in these specialty areas in California. Curricula in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Physician Assistant programs are strongly supported, including a core medical collection. The library holds additional materials in such areas as biology, psychology and the social sciences, health administration and finance, biomedical ethics, law, policy, research, other allied health disciplines and alternative health care. The audiovisual collection emphasizes nursing and podiatry. Participation in regional library consortia extends the available resources.
Library Mission
The John A. Graziano Memorial Library provides Samuel Merritt University and Summit Campus of the Alta Bates Summit Medical Center with access to information resources and training in using them to support a life of highly skilled and compassionate service in health care. The library also contributes to the good health of the greater community by making current consumer health information available.

Library Tours
Tours of the library are offered at the beginning of each fall and spring semester and by appointment.
Group Study & DVD/Video Viewing
The library has four rooms available for group viewing of DVDs/videos and group study. Samuel Merritt University students have priority for room use. Individuals are permitted to use a room but will be asked to leave if a group needs it. Individual viewing of videos may be done at one of the library’s audiovisual study carrels.
