SMU Students and Faculty Participate in UCSF Research Days
The Center for Nursing Research & Innovation Research Days is an annual two-day educational conference hosted by UCSF. The 2012 event took place on October 24 and 25, and consisted of workshops, a keynote speech, and displays of informational posters.
SMU Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ABSN) program students from the San Francisco Learning Center submitted abstracts to the conference about evidence-based practice that they prepared for their Nursing Research course, and they were accepted. Pre-licensure students, unlike graduate students, are not expected to participate in poster sessions at conferences and the students felt honored to be selected.
These ABSN students, who recently celebrated their pinning ceremony on Nov 2, found the event enlightening, inspiring and a wonderful learning experience, says Professor Pamela Minarik (ABSN San Mateo), who serves as the SMU Coordinator for the UCSF Research Days.
