Sacramento ELMSN Student Creates Book Drive for Youth in Juvenile Hall

Sacramento Entry Level Master of Science in Nursing (ELMSN 2) student Korie Miller (pictured) has created a book drive at the Samuel Merritt University Sacramento Learning Center for youth in the County of Sacramento Probation Department’s Juvenile Hall.

Miller, who used work for the County's Juvenile Hall, would like to help the department provide a better, more expansive book collection by replacing some of the current ones that have torn or missing pages, or are covered in graffiti. Juvenile Hall has requested that books be appropriate for youth between 11-17 years old, of all reading levels, from kindergarten to college. They are interested in classic literature, textbooks, fiction, and nonfiction.

The drive has been extended throughout February.
