Online Tutor Center

Welcome to the Online Tutoring Center! Having trouble with one of your on-line classes? The Online Tutoring Center can help.

Successful Tutoring

The purpose of tutoring is to clarify concepts and promote your learning, not do assignments for you. Our assumption is that you have already tried to learn the material but need clarification. Tutoring works best if you have specific questions. When you use our online tutoring, tutors will address your questions by suggesting ways you can improve your understanding of the material.

Who are the tutors?

Our tutors are other students or peer tutors whom the faculty recommends. A tutor can assist you through e-mail, phone, or fax.

How can I apply to get or become a tutor?

Complete and submit one of the online application forms available through our Academic Support office. Once submitted, your request will go directly to the Coordinator of Academic Support's desk. We will send a confirmation and will try to match you as quickly as possible

Academic Advising

For advising related to a specific course, your first contact should be your course instructor.

For advising relative to course sequencing, permission to enroll out of sequence, and issues that deal with general matriculation or other program policies, contact the program coordinator, Vicki Davis at vdavis@samuelmerritt.edu, who will answer your questions or connect you with the appropriate person.

The College does not provide professional counseling services for personal issues unrelated to the program.
