Miss Oregon CC Barber earned a $1,000 scholarship Thursday night in the Miss America Lifestyle & Fitness category.
She wore black Winnwear swimsuit.
She joins Miss Puerto Rico Mimi Pabon and Miss New York Alyse Zwick as the three preliminary Lifestyle & Fitness winners in advance of the Jan. 30 crowning of Miss America 2010.
The Jan. 30 competition and crowning ceremony is scheduled for an 8 p.m. ET/PT broadcast on the TLC network.
CC, 23, was crowned Miss Tri Valley before earning the Miss Oregon title.
Her ambition is to pursue a career in neonatology/adult oncology nursing.
Upon graduation from Scappoose High School, CC enrolled at Samuel Merritt University, where she earned a place on the Dean's List and was named a member of Sigma Theta Tau, the national honor society for nurses.
Her Miss America platform is "Friends of the Children" - Revolutionary Mentoring for High-Risk Youth.
