SMU Social Media Policy and Guidelines
The Samuel Merritt University Social Media Policy is the University’s official policy regarding confidentiality, consent, personal responsibility, representing SMU, logos and intellectual property, and the creation and management of SMU-sponsored social media sites. The Social Media Guidelines and Best Practices, though not part of the official policy, offer suggestions that may help you navigate the sometimes-tricky world of social media. In order to provide consistency all communications and publications produced by the University should follow the guidelines set in the SMU Style Guidelines. All photos used in SMU publications, both print and online, must be accompanied by signed release forms for subjects featured. Please find both documents below.
