Obtaining Articles
- Check Print & Electronic Journals [5] to see if the Graziano Library has the journal title and date of the article you need.
- If the journal title and date are available as full-text, you can view the article online and print it.
- If the article is not available online but is available in print at the Graziano Library, complete the Request an Article from the Oakland Campus Library [6] form. Please make sure to indicate the campus where you are a student.
- If the article is not at the Graziano Library, complete the Request an Article from a Non-SMC Library [7] form. Please make sure to indicate the campus where you are a student. There is a $2.00 charge for each article obtained from another library. Although it typically takes 3 to 4 days to receive an article, you should allow up to 10 days.
- Articles will be emailed as PDF attachments to the email address you specify in your request.
Borrowing Books
- Search for the book in SAMMY [8], the Graziano Library's online catalog.
- If you find the book in SAMMY [9], refer to the holdings information to see if your campus library has a copy.
- If your campus doesn't have a copy but the Oakland campus does, click the Request Item button in SAMMY [10]. Please make sure to specify the campus where you'd like to pick up the book. The book will be sent by daily intercampus pouch in 2-3 days; you may keep the book for two weeks.
- If the book is not in SAMMY [11], complete the Request a Book from a Non-SMC Library [12] form. Please make sure to indicate the campus where you are a student. There is a $2.00 charge for each book borrowed from another library. Although it typically takes 2 to 3 weeks to receive a book, you should allow up to four weeks.
- When you are notified that the book has arrived, you may pick it up from:
Sacramento: Jason White, 2710N Gateway Oaks Drive #360
San Francisco: Debbie Sommer (or the administrative assistant), 555 San Jose Avenue #110
San Mateo: Karin Kasper, 1720 S. Amphlett Boulevard #300
