Samuel Merritt College welcomes the opportunity to help you learn more about our Doctor of Podiatric Medicine Program. Prospective students can use the following methods to obtain information:
- Online CSPM Admission Inquiry [1]
- Phone: (800) 607-6377
The CSPM Admission Inquiry is an efficient way to let us know what your specific areas of interest are. We endeavor to give prospective students who have a serious interest an ample opportunity to explore questions or concerns about CSPM.
Each year CSPM accepts a select group of 40-48 highly qualified candidates for admission. Profiles for the class of 2011 show that:
- 41 new entering students enrolled in the fall of 2007
- The average science grade point average was 3.18
- The average cumulative grade point average was 3.21
- The average MCAT score was 22
- 60% of the entering students are male
- 40% of the entering students are female
- 62% of the entering students are residents of California
- 38% of the entering students came from states other than California
Tours of the campus are available for prospective students, available virtually every Wednesday and Friday with an advance appointment required. The schedule is an intensive, full day designed to give you an in-depth look at the CSPM experience; it is much more than a walk around campus. Family members are welcome to accompany you, but much of the visit is exclusively for prospective students. The day is designed to include the interview (below). Students who have not fully met the application requirements are welcomed on the tour; depending upon your qualifications, a final telephone interview may be needed before these students are offered admission.
