Blackboard is a course management system. It is a central repository for disseminating course materials. It makes web-enhanced and online classes easier to teach. Examples of Blackboard features include: discussion board forums, online testing, plagiarism detection, and peer assessments.There are also various resources within blackboard you can use for support.
As a faculty member you can access the Blackboard Manual from the "Control Panel" Under "Help" (Lower Right Section)
As a student you can access the Blackboard User Manual from "Course Tools" under "User Manual"
There are also various Departmental, Orientation, Training, and Informational courses in blackboard that are open for Self Enrollment. You may find these useful.
How to self-enroll in a Blackboard course (only available when this option is turned on)
1. From the Courses tab in Blackboard, select the Browse Course Catalog link.
The Browse Course Catalog page appears.
2. In the Search box, type the name of the course for example "COMM"
3. Click the Go button.
A search results list appears.
4. Find for the course you want to enroll in, click the Enroll button and then the Submit button.
You will receive a Receipt: Success message.
5. Click the OK button to continue.
