Samuel Merritt College Catalog Nursing Section Rates # 1
Senior nursing students from San Diego State University studied the catalogs of 75 of the 104 nursing programs in the state of California. They found, overall, the catalogs were less than helpful for the student seeking information about nursing. They rated each catalog based on its ability to attract potential students. Eight of the seventy-five catalogs rated in the highest category but only one received a perfect score: Samuel Merritt College! The authors stated: "The opportunities for careers in nursing shown were diverse and detailed, and the characterization of nursing as a profession was clear. The students entering this program would know the expectations, program track, and qualifications of the graduate. This catalog was written to make the applicant look forward to a bright and promising future in nursing and was aimed at attracting young students interested in using technology, as well as the returning student look to be challenged."
