Nu Xi Chapter at Large is a formally recognized chapter of the international nursing honor society, Sigma Theta Tau International (STTI). The departments or schools of nursing from three colleges and universities in the San Francisco East Bay region participate in the support of Nu Xi At Large Chapter. These institutions include:

California State University East Bay [1]

Founded in 1957, CSU East Bay is a public, comprehensive university with a main campus in Hayward, California and a satellite campus or centers in Concord and Oakland , California. CSUEB is one of twenty-eight colleges and universities in the California State University System. The main campus is located on a 324-acre campus in the hills of Hayward, California. The department of nursing, located within the School of Science, offers a baccalaureate degree in nursing for undergraduates and an RN-BSN degree completion program for registered nurses.

Holy Names University [2]

HNU is a comprehensive, independent, Catholic university, located on a 60-acre wooded campus in the Oakland hills. Founded in 1868 and originally known as Holy Names University, the University is sponsored by the Catholic religious order, the Sisters of the Holy Names. The College offers undergraduate degrees and masters degree in a variety of fields. The department of nursing offers a baccalaureate completion program for registered nurses both on campus and through distance learning technology. A master's degree in nursing is offered in an intensive four-day per month format. In 2005, HNU entered into an agreement with Samuel Merritt College to admit students to a two-year pre-nursing option. Students succesfully completing this option will be admited to the BSN program at Samuel Merritt College.

Samuel Merritt College is an independent, health sciences college, which sponsors a bachelor's degree in nursing. A cooperative 2+2 option is available in cooperation with Saint Mary's College of California, Holy Names University and Mills College. In addition, an accelerated BSN and an Entry-level Master's degree programs in Nusing are offered for college graduates. SMC also offers master's degree programs in nursing (family nurse practioner, nurse anesthesia, case management and MSN online). The School of Nursing was founded in 1909 under the auspices of Samuel Merritt Hospital. Today Samuel Merritt College, including the School of Nursing, is affiliated with Alta Bates Summit Medical Center and the Sutter Health System. SMC's other health science programs include, occupational, physical therapy, physician assistant studies and podiatric medicine. The College is located on an urban campus site of Alta Bates Summit Medical Center in Oakland, and satelite centers in Sacremento, San Francisco and the SF Penninsula.
