Section 1 of the Fact Book provides a look at College performance via SMC’s Mission, Vision and Values (MVV) and Strategic Priorities and SMC’s Dashboard of Key Quality Indicators of Institutional Performance. These data are used by the institution to broadly reflect the most compelling indices of institutional effectiveness. The MVV, Strategic Priorities and a summary of key quality indicators can be found following this introduction. Each data set is classified by College division under the following broad categories:

Section 2 or "Data Exhibits" of the Fact Book provides a look at College performance through the lens of the Western Association of Senior Schools and Colleges (WASC), the College’s regional accreditation body.

Section 3 or "Assessment Activities" of the Fact Book are data sets derived of continuous assessment activities within the College relating to the learning environment and stakeholder satisfaction.
