Functional anatomy of the local and global muscle systems in the lumbopelvic region: A cadaver lab course

Description: This is a one day course focusing on lumbopelvic anatomy as it pertains to the structure and function of the local and global muscle systems. The course consists of a combination of:

  • Exploration of 3‐dimensional lumbopelvic anatomy in gross anatomy lab
  • Discussion of motor control principles for the lumbopelvic region
  • An interactive session focused on facilitation strategies for the local muscle system and application to clinical practice

Course content will be applicable to physical therapists working in a variety of practice settings with diverse patient/client populations

Location: Samuel Merritt University, Oakland, CA

Cost: $125 ($100 for SMU alumni and clinical instructors)
