Samuel Merritt University's Ethnic Health Institute (EHI) will host a booth at the 31st Annual Oakland Chinatown StreetFest. This two-day summer tradition includes over 200 booths, spanning ten blocks of Chinatown. Small businesses and community organizations will showcase a myriad of delicious foods, unique Asian products, and community services. Arts & crafts, entertainment on two stages, and a Cultural Village will celebrate the Year of the Dog. This free event draws thousands of people who come to enjoy the tastes of Asia and experience the traditions of Oakland’s unique Chinatown. EHI will provide interactive activities and resources highlighting stress awareness and management. Bilingual (Cantonese/English, Mandarin/English) volunteers are needed. Sign up to volunteer here.
