Announcements

Announcements can be used to alert students to information that they wouldn't receive through either notifications or through the visible course settings.

An announcement is a message for students posted on the Announcements page of a Canvas course. One document from the Files area may be attached to an announcement. When announcements are used to their best effect, they don’t duplicate information that students receive automatically via Canvas notifications. Announcements are used to help keep students informed of things that can’t be planned for in the course settings and things that notifications don’t cover (most changes that take place in the course during the term).
