Domenique Embrey
Assistant Professor
Master Occupational Therapy

Domenique Embrey, MS, OTR/L is an Occupational Therapist with over 26 years experience. She has worked extensively with people
throughout the lifespan, starting with adults with neurological insults and moving into pediatrics.  Ms. Embrey has worked in public and private hospitals, public and private schools, Pediatric and Adult Intensive care and Neonatal Intensive care hospital units, as well as private therapy clinics. She has experience in neurological rehabilitation, mental health, developmental disabilities, sensory processing difficulties, handwriting, ADHD, Autism Spectrum, Down Syndrome, and Dyslexia. At Samuel Merritt, her roles include coordinating the adult and pediatric community clinic, teaching Advanced Practice - Pediatrics and being the assistant academic fieldwork coordinator.  Domenique is currently the Occupational Therapist serving California School for the Deaf - Fremont.

Teaching Interest include

  • Working with the local community to provide access to OT for underserved populations
  • Supporting students through fieldwork placements
  • Helping students explore concepts such as neurodiversity, access to healthcare and prevention
