I have been an RN since 1994, specializing in adult medical surgical and critical care nursing. I received my MS in 2003 and my PhD in 2008, both from the University of California, San Francisco. I am currently working full time at Samuel Merritt University.

My current program of research is in the area of symptom management, palliative/end-of-life care and bereavement care in the ICU, with an emphasis on the family members of ICU patients.
