About Me
I was born in Venezuela and have lived in the Bay Area for over 40 years. My career in Healthcare has always been focused in Pediatrics, directed at helping the Hispanic population and the Latino community. I have served in many roles during my tenure, which have included positions as PICU nurse, Nursing research assistant, school nurse, pediatric Nurse Practitioner and Pediatric Nursing Faculty.
For me, it has always been an inspiration to work with children, the youth and their families, to promote disease prevention and to provide education to families in an attempt to help them fulfill a brighter future. Currently, I am honored with the opportunity to serve as a role model for the nurses-of-the-future, share my experience and help students develop into their future roles.
Education
I received a BSN degree from Samuel Merritt College and specialized in Pediatric Nursing from the beginning of my career. After working in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, I completed a Master’s in Science from University of California San Francisco and received a MS degree and Pediatric Nurse Practitioner license.
