About Me

Kate Lucas graduated from Ventura City College and became a registered in 1973. She moved to the Bay Area for her first Nursing job at a large integrated health care system. She moved to Tucson AZ where she continued to work as a nurse while attending the University of AZ and received her BS, majoring in Management Information Systems. After a decade of clinical practice, Ms. Lucas moved to TX and into a role as an Implementation and Training Specialist for a healthcare information company. After implementing clinical information systems throughout the United States, she found herself back in the Bay Area. She attended San Francisco State University and received an MA in Education. After retiring recently from IT at the same integrated health care company where she first worked as a nurse, Ms. Lucas has gone on to teach in the Nursing program. She is proud to give back to the profession that gave her such a wonderful career.
