At what moment in your life did you decide you wanted to go into healthcare?
During the course of my father's treatment for head and neck cancer
What were the main obstacles you faced?
Science is not a strong-suit of mine. Getting through the science pre-requisites while working full time was a huge hurdle but I'm so grateful that time paid off!
Why did you choose Samuel Merritt University?
I desired a private school experience wherein I'd be known and supported within a community of excellence.
What has been your favorite class or experience?
I've enjoyed my clinical rotation through John Muir Behavioral Health. Engaging with the clients has been fascinating and exciting.
What's your favorite thing to do when you are not in class or studying?
I enjoy yoga about 4 times a week. My husband and I love to cook, wrestle with our french bulldog and travel to tropical climates.
What is one thing you'd like to tell a new student just entering your program?
I would urge an ELMSN candidate to take full advantage of every possible experience that comes his or her way. Opportunities for engagement and participation are endless and supremely worthwhile.
