Simulation is integrated into every academic program at Samuel Merritt University (SMU).
Pre-licensure nursing students using simulation
Each program incorporates simulation to meet its own unique learning objectives. In the Health Sciences Simulation Center many SMU students now have their first taste of clinical practice as early as two months into their training, and well before they actually embark on their clinical practicum experience. They continue performing, evaluating and improving their skills through simulation right up to graduation.
Across the curricula university wide, feedback from both students and faculty has been overwhelmingly positive. At SMU, simulation plays a major role in transforming students into skilled, confident and effective clinical practitioners.
