Samuel Merritt University is looking to fill a position in the Occupational Therapy Department. We are looking for an adjunct faculty that can assist in the documentation course, an online course for the summer semester.
Interested applicants must have strong documentation skills, a minimum of a Masters degree, have a California Occupational Therapy license and demonstrate practice expertise in the content area they are teaching. No prior teaching is required.
Job Duties and Accountabilities:
An asterisk (*) denotes an "essential job function" for ADA purposes
60% - Grading of student skills and/or assignments by the students.
15% - Teaching content appropriate to the course or assisting in delivery of lecture content.
15% - Collaboration with lead teacher on other duties as needed.
10% - Online individual student meetings as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
Skills and Abilities: Excellent documentation skills and experience, with any occupational therapy clients and expertise and skills in teaching, grading and working with students.
Education and/or Experience: Licensed Occupational therapist with demonstrated practice expertise in clinical documentation. No prior teaching is required.
Physical Requirements: Ability to read documentation assignments submitted by students and to grade and give feedback via online systems.
