The Occupational Therapy Department at Samuel Merritt University provides free pediatric occupational therapy services to children between the ages of 6 months and 16 years. Clients receive services from students in Occupational Therapy program, whose work is supervised by licensed occupational therapists.
Occupational therapists work with children who have difficulty engaging in the typical activities of childhood due to medical conditions, developmental challenges, or injury. An occupational therapist helps children develop skills to enhance their participation in self-care, play, and school activities. Please note: our OT lab is not a good fit for children primarily with behavior issues, due to the student-led services provided.
The 2018 clinic will take place on Mondays, beginning October 1, 2018 and ending on December 3, 2018 (no session Oct. 8 due to local school holiday). Children will be scheduled for a 50-minute therapy session. Sessions will start at 2:30 or 3:30 pm.
