Research Projects

Samuel Merritt University faculty members contribute to the greater health care community by conducting and sharing research.

Advancing the field through research and discovery

Many of our faculty scholars are actively involved in research projects and clinical trials, and they often collaborate with students on these efforts. This gives future health professionals access to incredibly unique hands-on learning opportunities, often at the cutting-edge of care and treatment.

Our state-of-the-art labs and research facilities offer our faculty members and students the space, resources, and tools they need to conduct their research. For example, in SMU’s Motion Analysis Research Center, students and faculty can work side-by-side on major initiatives aimed at finding solutions to human movement challenges.

SMU’s research isn’t confined to our campus. Our faculty members are regularly published in peer-reviewed journals, and they frequently present at industry conferences or serve as subject matter experts to the media.
