Dr. Formento has been a professional nurse for over 20 years with a passion for teaching as well as providing care in rural and underserved communities. She has been a Family Nurse Practitioner for 18 years during which time she has worked in clinical services, administration, research, and education.

Dr. Formento received a Doctor of Nursing Practice from Samuel Merritt University, Master of Science in Nursing from University of Hawaii, Post-Master Certificate in Health Information Technology from University of Colorado in Denver, and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Hawaii Pacific University
