Samuel Merritt University Oakland is located at 52512th Street in the heart of downtown. Our campus is easily accessible by public transit, car, or rideshare. While there are many nearby options, please plan extra time for parking. The front entrance is on 12th Street where you can check in at the reception desk upon arrival. If you see the large blue SMU sign in front of the building, you're in the right place! Conveniently located just a short distance from the 12th Street Oakland City Center BART station.

- Trans Pacific Centre Garage 1000 Broadway $12 discounted rate with SMU-provided chaser ticket (see front desk) Garage closed on weekends
- City Center West Garage 1250 Martin Luther King Jr. Way $20 discounted rate for entry before 9:30 am $8 hourly rate
- Oakland Convention Center Garage 550 11th Street $20 discounted rate with SMU-provided validation (see front desk)
- Metered Street Parking Most meters cost $3 per hour, but rates range from $1 - $4 per hour. All meters take coins and cards. You can also pay-by-phone using the Parkmobile app at most meters.

Getting Around
The BART station located ½ block from the City Center campus is the 12th Street/Oakland City Center (yellow BART line).

Mon-Fri: 8am to 4pm
Access code needed for front door after 6pm. Code issued to students at start of program. Lights and card access readers deactivated at 10 p.m. Students can access campus on weekends using access code, but HVAC and lights only work 8am to 12pm Saturdays.
