Health & Counseling Center

The newly integrated Samuel Merritt University Health & Counseling Center aims to provide top quality physical and mental health care under one roof. Our health professionals recognize that good health is more than the absence of illness, but rather a robust state of well-being that acknowledges the importance and inseparability of the mind-body relationship. Together we work with you to promote healthy lifestyle choices, encourage a holistic philosophy and balance to life for healthy living and academic success. Whether you are enrolled in the SMU-sponsored Student Health Insurance plan or you maintain alternate health insurance coverage, the student Health & Counseling Center offers a variety of free or very low cost physical and mental health services to all matriculated SMU students.

The Student Health & Counseling Center is an important part of the Division of Enrollment and Student Services at SMU. Together, our nurse practitioners, psychologists and administrative staff are committed to enhancing your health and well-being. We invite you to make our center a part of your SMU experience.

  • Physical Examinations
  • Continuity of are for chronic illness
  • Women's Health; GYN & Family Planning
  • Health care screening/assessment
  • PPD skin tests for tuberculosis screening
