About Me
I am a proud Samuel Merritt University (SMU) alumna, having graduated from both the ELMSN-FNP and DNP programs. My academic interests have centered on breastfeeding, health promotion, and family-centered care. My FNP synthesis project explored breastfeeding as a protective factor against childhood obesity, and my DNP project focused on improving paternal knowledge of breastfeeding through a father-focused educational video delivered via YouTube. Since 2020, I have had the privilege of serving as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at SMU, teaching across the graduate nursing curriculum in courses focused on theoretical foundations, health promotion, chronic and complex conditions, advanced pharmacology, evidence-based practice, health policy and advocacy, leadership, family-centered care, ethics and advanced practice roles, and FNP clinical practice.
