About Me

I have been a nurse since 1997. I have worked in various settings, including telemetry, ICU, preoperative and postoperative anesthesia care units. In 2016, I decided to return to school to expand my education and graduated with my MSN degree (specializing in nursing education) in 2019. I started teaching full-time at Samuel Merritt University in 2020, where I also completed my DNP degree.

Education

I received my Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Samuel Merritt University (formerly College) in 1997. I received my Master of Science in Nursing degree from Capella University in 2019. I received my Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from Samuel Merritt University in 2025.

Scholarly Interests

My doctorate project involved the implementation of a fall risk protocol in an ambulatory surgery center setting, to enhance patient safety, and this continues to be an area of research for me.
