An Investment in Your Future

A Doctor of Podiatric Medicine can lead to a rewarding physician career with strong earning potential. At SMU, you’ll know the cost of your education from the day you enroll.

Podiatric physicians earn a national median salary of $160,300 a year, with the highest 10% earning more than $309,670, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. Earnings also vary by practice setting: the median salary for podiatrists working in physicians' offices is $207,240.

We believe you should understand the cost before you commit. Your total program tuition is fixed when you enroll and won't increase as long as you stay on track—no mid-program tuition increases. Podiatric medicine students are eligible for federal loan programs that can help cover the full cost of attendance, and 85% of SMU DPM students receive financial aid.
