What they teach
I teach in the area of health systems and regulatory aspects of physical therapy, as well as in interprofessional education opportunities.
Clinical practice area
My clinical background is in acute care physical therapy. I am a Board-certified Geriatric Clinical Specialist and have advanced training in neurologic and vestibular physical therapy. I also have experience in global health physical therapy in Panama, Haiti, and Burundi.
Community involvement
I still practice clinically in acute care at Kaiser Walnut Creek and San Leandro Medical Centers as a Senior Physical Therapist on a per diem basis.
Notable affiliations
I am a Representative to the CPTA Assembly of Representatives and serve as the Membership Engagement Coordinator for the Simulation Networking Community in the APTA's Academy of Education.
Selected scholarly highlights
I am the creator of the Function In Sitting Test, a reliable and valid outcome measure to quantify sitting abilities. My research focuses on physical therapist student education, including simulation-based learning. I have a grant from the Parkinson's Foundation aimed at community exercise programs and support.
