About Me

I grew up in a small town in Southeast Missouri. I completed my Bachelor of Medical Science degree and Physician Assistant Certificate in 1998 at St. Louis University. I went on to attain my Masters of Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Nebraska. I have worked the majority of my career in Orthopaedic Surgery. I began at the VA Hospital in Columbia Missouri where I was able to work alongside the orthopaedic surgery residents. This was a vital opportunity to gain a broad base of orthopaedic knowledge. I relocated to the Bay Area in 2008 where I now live in Danville with my husband and dogs. I continued my career in orthopaedics specializing in total joint replacement. I have experience in surgical assisting, operative planning, patient education, hospital rounding, along with orthopaedic procedures and injections. I moved out of clinical practice and joined the faculty with the SMU PA Program in 2023. I feel honored to be a part of this University and incredible team. I truly enjoy sharing my knowledge and interacting with the students. They challenge me to be a better educator and I learn so much from them. Outside of the classroom I enjoy being physically active with hiking, running, cycling, and CrossFit. You will often see me out on the trails with my dogs.
