Fusae Abbott, DNSc., RN, is a Professor and the Director of the Case Management Program in the School of Nursing at Samuel Merritt University. Fusae had her basic nursing education in Japan and, over the past 45 years, has practiced as an RN and taught nursing in both Japan and the USA. She has been involved in several projects. In 2010, Fusae and her colleagues conducted a study to examine the effectiveness of its implementation in Japan. As of March, 2018, the JCDSMA had offered 223 workshops (2078 attendees) across 21 prefectures by developing partnerships with hospitals, patient groups, local governments, and pharmaceutical companies.
