I have practiced in the early intervention, outpatient pediatric, neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), NICU follow up clinic, musculoskeletal, private practice and workplace wellness settings. Early in my career, I was trained in Functional Orthopedics (Johnson and Saliba) and took a year long Maitland course (Ferrell). As a private practice owner, I planned, developed and executed corporate and workplace injury prevention programs which included ergonomic and exercise interventions. After working for many years as a pediatric physical therapist, I completed the National Association of Neonatal Therapists competencies for developmental care in the neonatal intensive care unit.
As the Director of Clinical Education of the Department of Physical Therapy, my focus is in optimizing the student’s application of their classroom knowledge to the clinic. When I am not working, I can be found spending time with my husband and 3 children, doing a yoga class, sampling locally roasted organic coffees, walking along the ocean or hiking on one of the local trails.
I graduated from Chapman University with a Master of Physical Therapy degree in 1989 and a Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree in 2017.
