What they teach

I teach Human Gross Anatomy to students in the Master Physician Assistant Program (PA6001/6001L) and Doctor of Physical Therapy Program (PHYTH 7023).

Clinical practice area

Although I am not a clinician, I work closely with healthcare practitioners to ensure that our students develop a strong foundation in the basic sciences, particularly human anatomy. This foundational knowledge is essential to preparing students for success in their subsequent coursework, clinical training, and future healthcare careers.

Community involvement

I volunteer with local organizations, including FACES for the Future, and several Bay Area high schools, in collaboration with SMU’s Center for Community Engagement, to provide anatomy workshops for students interested in pursuing careers in healthcare.

Selected scholarly highlights

In collaboration with Dr. Legleiter and Dr. Kimpo in the Department of Basic Sciences, I am conducting research to identify best practices for integrating immersive virtual reality into anatomy education. I believe it is essential that our students gain meaningful experience with emerging technologies, equipping them to adapt to advances in healthcare, contribute to innovative approaches to patient care, and become leaders in their chosen fields.
