Doctor of Physical Therapy

I have assisted in the neuromuscular patient/client management courses (PT 713 and PT 718), as well as exercise prescription for patients and clients in adult and pediatric neuro (PT 737).

About Me

I am a practicing physical therapist in the area of neurologic and geriatric physical therapy. I primarily work in the outpatient setting, but also have experience in acute care.

In addition to serving as an Adjunct Assistant Instructor at Samuel Merritt University, I work at El Camino Health as a Physical Therapist III.  Currently, I work with patients with a wide variety of neurologic conditions, such as Stroke, Traumatic Brain Injury, Spinal Cord Injury, Parkinson's Disease and Parkinson's Plus Syndromes, Multiple Sclerosis, Functional Neurological Disorders, Concussion, and Vestibular disorders in addition to working with frail older adults. I enjoy being a clinical instructor for physical therapy students and serving as a mentor for new physical therapists. My goal is to foster a culture of lifelong learning and promote healthy living (and especially healthy aging) for my patients.

When I am not in the clinic, I enjoy reading, running, playing and watching basketball, and spending time with my family.

Education

I earned my Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) from the University of Southern California. I completed a geriatric physical therapy residency at Stanford Health Care. I am a Board-Certified Clinical Specialist in Geriatric Physical Therapy (GCS) and a Board-Certified Clinical Specialist in Neurologic Physical Therapy (NCS). I also am a Parkinson's Wellness Recovery (PWR!) trained therapist and a Certified Exercise Expert for Aging Adults (CEEAA). I have completed the Vestibular Rehabilitation competency course and am a Credentialed Clinical Instructor.
