About Me

Originally from Southern California, I relocated to Northern California to practice as a Family Nurse Practitioner. With more than a decade of ambulatory care nursing experience, I am committed to serving disadvantaged populations and supporting new RNs and NPs as they transition to practice. I regularly encounter the role confusion and imposter syndrome that many early-career clinicians face, and I draw on my clinical background to mentor learners toward confidence and competence.

As an educator at SMU, I have taught across the multiple nursing programs, serve as a DNP chair, and precept students at Elica Health Centers. I leverage classroom and clinical teaching to help students develop practical skills, critical thinking, and professional identity.

In clinical practice I prioritize shared decision-making and patient-empowered care, creating a safe, nonjudgmental environment where patients and families are informed, engaged members of their healthcare team. My clinical interests include integrating Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) for substance use disorders, gender-affirming care, and comprehensive LGBTQ+ health into primary care settings to improve access and outcomes for marginalized communities.
