About Me

I grew up in the Bay Area and love everything it has to offer. My partner and I got married young and have 4 kiddos ranging from teenagers to toddlers. I worked clinically at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital and Research Center Oakland for 15 years where my focus was on caring for pediatric patients throughout their health journey. I have a passion for local community and my family and I are very involved in the foster care system where we are a certified resource family. We're also invested in coming up with solutions to systemic issues that pervade our neighborhoods such as racial and social injustices and homelessness.

Scholarly Interests

My scholarly interests focus on advancing health equity through community-engaged education and interprofessional collaboration. I work closely with individuals experiencing homelessness and study the impact of preparing nursing and social work students to work collaboratively with unhoused populations. I am also interested in educational strategies that foster a strong sense of community on satellite campuses and promote academic integrity by reducing instances of academic dishonesty

Developing, testing, and integrating a community/public health nursing clinical evaluation tool for use in baccalaureate nursing programs.
